Merry Christmas

Reindeer santa outfit

Rudolph’s worked really hard this year and Santa’s hung up his outfit; Christmas morning has arrived – yippee!

I just wanted to wish everyone a very merry Christmas and a happy New Year. I sincerely hope that 2011 will be a year in which many dreams come true.

Love and best wishes, Suzanne xxx

Other favourite Christmas cards

As mentioned last time, I’ve made and sold many Christmas cards. Here are some of my favourite non-stitched designs…
mag fairymag snowman painted fairy baublemounted 3 trees and stars mounted 3 trees mounted angel mounted camels mounted curly tree mounted holly large mounted jingle bells mounted snowman small mounted stocking mounted tree 3
Most of them are made using stamping and embossing techniques. In the vast majority you can see what has become my signature – mounting on multiple different sized and coloured rectangles. I just love the effect. Most of my stitched and beading cards are also mounted these days because I really like the added dimension and personalisation.

Stitched Christmas Cards

I’ve made hundreds of Christmas cards over the years, some simpler than others. These are most of the stitched and beaded ones that I’ve done. I’ve saved two that will be posted on Christmas day with a message to my friends and family.

A wedding card

I’ve just been flicking through my pics and found this one that David scanned for me when we got our new all-in-one printer a few weeks ago. I’d forgotten to post it so here is the card that I made for Niall and Isabel…

My husband’s cross-stitch from the age of 6

We were sent this cross-stitch by one of David’s teachers. She found it when sorting out some stuff after moving house. He had made it at the age of 6. I’m very impressed.

As an aside, I really enjoyed teaching my year 10s how to make stitched cards this week. Not strictly Maths but it was definitely better than watching a film at the end of a really long term.

A few things I’ve been doing

It doesn’t feel like I’ve had much time for crafting recently but the UCAS references are finally all done and the application process is over for another year so I’m back! Here are a few things I’ve done recently…
place setting HB_editI made something like 100 of these simple place settings for a colleague last year who used them for her parents diamond wedding anniversary party.
P1010855_editThis framed A4 piece speaks for itself.
P1020354_editThis was an alternative to a normal birth sampler for my god-daughter. She’s nearly two and I still haven’t got around to having it framed yet. Oops.
P1020349_editThis is a stitched isometric cube for one of my Maths department colleagues. It took hours but I absolutely love it, hope she does too!

Other cards I’ve made but not posted before

Here are the last few cards in my collection that I really like. I guess this means that I need to get on and make some new ones to blog or take up something completely different to talk about! There’s a bit of a mix here…
